Tower of Fantasy is getting a major update with its 1.5 patch, bringing an entirely new zone called Artificial Island and a host of new features to the game, as well as new bosses, characters, weapons, Simulacra, and more.
Announced via Twitter with a video detailing some of the new content, update 1.5 is coming on September 15, a little over a month since the game’s global release. A new Artificial Island Zone is front and center for this update, a vast new area for players to explore, collect materials and fight new foes. Featured in the trailer are the Ring Arena, Puddled Lake, and Rusty Iron Camp areas, which are the same green but ruinous plains as the Asperia world from the base game.
There’s also a new boss called the Interdimensional Frostfire Dragon, a giant flying mechanical dragon that shoots lasers and missiles from above. Also on display is the ability to build houses using a basic building system that appears to be a simpler version of the kind found in open world survival and crafting games.
It’s not mentioned directly in the trailer but featured heavily is the character Claudia, who is currently available as Simulacra only on the China server for Tower of Fantasy. With him featured so prominently in the trailer, he will likely become the third limited event banner weapon, after Frigg.
Tower of Fantasy content will most likely be arriving quickly to the global version of the game, as the schedule is much faster than the initial Chinese release, so the two could reach parity before another significant release occurs. With Vera 2.0 update announcement already out via Gamescom, players don’t have to wait long for dozens and dozens of hours of additional content. There’s also nearly a dozen Simulacra and additional weapons that weren’t released in the west, so while content continues to come out quickly, there are several months of possible updates in the works for fans to enjoy.
