The UH8 is Hisense’s current 2022 TV. It replaces the popular U8G model from last year. This is Hisense’s high-end TV that uses traditional LED technology. It easily competes with and surpasses similarly priced models from more well-known brands like Samsung, LG, and Sony. The biggest improvement from last year’s model is Mini-LED panel, which allows for better control of black levels and thus a higher contrast ratio. The UH8 also features quantum dot technology (QLED), which offers higher brightness levels (up to 1,500 nits) and better color reproduction. The UH8 is a ULED TV, meaning it is equipped with full array LED backlighting with local dimming and supports a wide color gamut.
The U8H has closed gamers. It has a native 120Hz panel and two HDMI 2.1 inputs. That means it can skip true 4K@120Hz on PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles and gaming PCs equipped with the RTX 30 series. The U8H also supports variable refresh rate (VRR), which is a version of this TV’s adaptive sync technology, as well as automatic low latency mode ( ALLM), where the TV automatically switches to a lower latency when it detects gameplay.
All of the above features also make the U8H an excellent HDR TV set, especially when combined with its Dolby Vision HDR support. That’s a lot of features in a $650-$950 TV set, but then again, it usually sells for a few hundred dollars more.
