Seven people, including several students, were hospitalized following the shooting at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia early Sunday, authorities said.
Norfolk Police responded around midnight to a call for a shooting at 5000 blocks of Killiam Avenue, less than a mile from campus, officials said.
Two of the seven suffered “life-threatening” injuries, police said.
“Some” of the victims were students at Norfolk State University on the opposite end of town, the school said on Twitter Sunday morning.
The school’s tweet called the shooting an “isolated off-campus” incident.
“The NSU Police have secured the NSU campus. Counseling is available to any student who needs services,” the tweet said.
