Home windows Defender studies a false optimistic menace ‘Conduct:Win32/Hive.ZY’; nothing to fret about

  • Windows Defender warns people about “threat detected” for “Behavior: Win32/Hive.ZY”
  • This issue is related to the recent listing in Microsoft’s Defender update file, which makes the detection incorrect
  • The trigger seems to be related to Defender detecting “Electronic or Chromium based apps as malware”
  • Microsoft is expected to patch/update Microsoft Defender to resolve this issue

Update #1 (1:50 a.m. ET): According to the Microsoft support forum, the Defenders Team indicated that they are investigating this and will hopefully release a patch for this soon.

This morning, listings in the Microsoft Defender database (or even Windows Update) caused havoc on people’s Windows PCs.
